Our History

The Inception

Rudevit began as a community-driven initiative by some of Malawi's most accomplished professionals, committed to unlocking the country's enormous rural economic potential through entrepreneurial enterprise.

Formalisation as a PLC

The initiative evolved into a formal investment holding structure — Rural Development Investment Holdings PLC — bringing institutional rigour, corporate governance, and a board of directors drawn from Malawi's top financial, legal, and technical sectors.

Present Day

Today, Rudevit operates across nine sectors — from agriculture and energy to healthcare and pharmaceuticals — with ongoing production milestones in its organic fertiliser programme and a growing shareholder base.

A Vision Rooted in Community

Rudevit was born out of a recognition that Malawi's wealth lies in its rural communities — communities that have long been underserved by donor-dependent models. By applying rigorous business discipline and patient capital, Rudevit creates lasting enterprise that generates real returns for investors while raising living standards across the country.
